Well, I've finally started taking classes here in Colombia. It's this great institution called Nueva Lengua specifically for foreigner's learning Spanish. The classes have 6 levels, Basic 1, Basic 2, Intermediate 1, Intermediate 2,Advanced 1, and Advanced 2, and I believe I am in one of the Intermediate levels. The Standard class that I am taking is from 9AM to 12PM, then i eat lunch with friends from the school and either go home or do the cultural activity the school offers, if there is one that Day. There are also dance classes for free every Thursday. I have only just started my second week but I have already gone to the Botanical Gardens near here, and had movie night, plus the dance class and some group lunches.
The Botanical Gardens were amazing, the plant life was very different from what you see in Virginia.
And just today we went to La Calera, just outside of the city for lunch. I've already had this kind of food before but it is still delicious and really fun with people from Sweden, Switzerland, Germany, Canada, Brazil, and so on.
This photo is courtesy of Julian, one of the directors, with more of that soda-beer on the side.
Where's Waldo? (I mean me)
If you want to see more pictures of these activities, I put more in the Flickr box to the right. And don't forget to comment and let me know who's reading!
I am reading and I am loving it. :)
ReplyDeleteWhere is the link to go to Flicker. That little box is too small to look at pictures.
DeleteI put the link underneath
DeleteSounds like you're having a great time already. And I love your blog. Keep the words and pictures coming. I've never even been to another country, so I get my travel-abroad experiences vicariously. I hope you are doing well.

Thank you for sharing!!!
ReplyDeleteKeep it coming!
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to reading your travelogue and viewing your pics. I visited Colombia many times with Marta when I was her care-giver. Cartagena, Barranquilla and Santa Marta, but never made it to Bogota. My only worry was if the tide was going to reach my chair. Enjoy!
